Nrityalaya - School for Classical Dance and Music, Kozhikode

The following are the performances in the annual Marghazi Music and Dance Festival in Chennai:

1. December 08th 2009 – “Bharatha Samudhayam Vazhgave” – Bharat Kalachar
2. December 11th 2009 – “Krishna Madhuryam” – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
3. December 14th 2009 – “Bharatha Samudhayam Vazhgave” – Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan
4. December 28th 2009 – “Krishna madhuryam” – Brahma Gana Sabha.

A special request from Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam prompted a repeat of “Bharatha Samudhayam Vazhgave” at the “Soorya Festival”, Thiruvananthapuram

N.Srikanth, along with Roja Kannan and Priya Murle present a thematic Bharatanatyam recital at the Delhi- International Arts Festival, New Delhi.

Summer vacation at Nrityalaya started in the first week of April but the dancing duo had their hands full ! Srikanth and Aswathy were in Cleveland , USA , from April 7th to April 20th doing a dance workshop for 16 young dancers selected from all over the USA. The event was under the auspices of Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana Committe who have been hosting the music event for 32 years in Cleveland. The dance workshop is a relatively new addition. April 19th was the culmination when the dancers performed along with their teachers at the CSU auditorium.

N.Srikanth and Aswathy Srikanth performed at the famed Esplanade Theatre , Singapore , as part of the Annual SIFAS Festival on 20th March 2009. The poems of Mahakavi Subramanya Bharati were performed in Bharatanatyam style in 3 formats, solo, group and dance drama. Smt Roja Kannan and Smt Priya Murle were also part of the production.
